When I started training with Brigitt and Matt, I was overweight and scared. I didn't want to get a gym membership b/c I worried I'd be embarrassed. "Brigitt and her husband Matt have become very important in my life. I hired Brigitt after 3 back spasms which were incredibly debilitating. The doctors would only prescribe mind numbing medication, or surgery. I joined the Marsh, and hired personal trainers, only to receive further injuries to my back. “I have hired personal trainers before, and I have to tell you that Matt is one of the most inspiring, compassionate and understanding men I have EVER met in my life. He is so fun to work out with! His plans are always creative; he will test your limits and bring you to new heights. I decided to bring my son who was in hockey but had no flexibility or balance with lower and upper body strength.  "Brigitt and Matt Gunelson, a wife/husband team of personal trainers, are very warm, very open and caring people who put more stock in your success than landing a new client. Here are six reasons why I recommend Mind Body Spirit Home Fitness.

1. Intimidation-free. They have a really fantastic setup in their basement, so you don't go into an icky gym surrounded by muscle heads or skinny girls. It's just you and one of them. Or sometimes both! I love not having to go to a big, booming place like Life Time or Bally’s. It's comfortable, personal and free of distractions.

2. Personalization. They will help set up an approach specific to you and your needs and goals, and then they adjust as your needs change. They will consult on nutrition and food, if that is something you want. Or just focus on working out, if that is preferred. Recently, they set me up on a new eating plan (i refuse to say diet) that SEEMED crazy when they proposed it, but it's really worked well for me.

3. Dues-free. You do *not* need a gym membership to work with them. However, they do give "assignments" for things to do on the days you're not training with them. But they are really creative about finding ways for you to do those workouts - it doesn't have to be in a gym. I really appreciate this because I'm much happier walking/running outside than on a treadmill.

4. Empathetic. One of the very best things about working with Brigitt, is that she has a background in therapy and has been on her own weight-loss track for the last few years. Not only does she help you work out - but she helps you through the mental and emotional struggles that come along with process. It makes for a very holistic experience - addressing the mind and body. I've found it to be very nurturing.

5. No sales pressure. Once I toured Bally’s and was totally turned off by the heavy sales tactics and pushy sales person. There is NOTHING pushy about Brig. Or Matt. Nothing. They will push you in a WORKOUT, but not with their sales tactics.

6. Bottomless depths of support. The motivation and support Brigitt and Matt offer is priceless. I can reach out to them when I’m having weak moments and they help boost me up to keep me on track.
